----- Charlie ----- tag: N/A // words: 553 // notes: First Post/Thread as this character It was a bright, sunny day; the perfect conditions for adventure. She grabbed her backpack and put in the necessary supplies, said goodbye to her friends, and then headed out to explore. The guards at the gate were friendly, making quick small talk with the young brunette. It was always nice to talk to them, they got so flustered when she flirted, it was honestly so adorable. SOme people were just easy to get to.
“Bye boys! And Alisha! See you all later!”
She blew a kiss to the young redhead and smiled as the girl’s cheeks flushed a bright red. Alisha was one of her favourites to tease. It was so easy to make her blush, almost a little too easy. She turned away and skipped off in the direction of town. She was planning on stopping by the bar to try and find some of Alexander’s favourite whiskey and then she would make her way to the park to look for more strange objects to add to her collection. She liked to look for smooth or oddly shaped rocks, old utensils, jewelry, and a number of other objects. She had once found what looked to be an engagement ring slightly buried in the dirt by a bench, it had saddened her to see it. She always wondered what happened, rejection? Or perhaps they had never gotten the chance to finish proposing, the ring still looked fairly new.
The young brunette ran her thumb over the surface of the ring, ever since she had found it she’d kept it on her right, middle finger. Maybe someday she would find the couple it belonged to and be able to return it. She highly doubted that would happen, but she prefered to be optimistic. She shook the thoughts from her mind and looked up. The door to the bar was directly in front of her, she’d really lost track of time. Setting to the task at hand, she was in and out in under five minutes.
Charlie was excited as she made her way to the park, almost tripping over her own feet as she hurried along. The park was always beautiful this time of year and she couldn’t wait to see the blooming flowers. She could smell them from a mile away. She walked through the park, spinning in circles to take in the scenery. It was amazing, she couldn’t believe the plants were even still here. She had dressed up a bit for the occasion. It always felt necessary to dress up for the park. She was wearing a light blue off shoulder top with a grey miniskirt and black converse shoes. It was her version of dressing up, she usually only wore tshirts and skinny jeans, so this was a bit formal for her.
The wind blew through the park, hitting the back of her neck and cooling her. A stronger gust blew, lifting her skirt a bit and she held it down till it passed. It was a ridiculous thing to do, there was no one else there. She was still a bit paranoid though and she took a good look around before sitting down and getting to work. She pulled a small gardening shovel out of her backpack and began to dig in the dirt in front of her.

The day was rather uneventful, but that mattered little cause Nell had found what she was looking for. She slowly moved through the streets overlooking a small piece of paper if anyone happened too be watching her at the momen they would be able too make out little. The paper was actually a small portion of a map of some kind, it showed the underworkings of the city and currently Nell was trying too figure out exactly how too read the thing. After a little walking and a couple bullets Nell was quickly finding out that most of the manhole in the city had been either caved in or rather unusable. She was covered in a light sweat and for her it was the only thing out of place on her perfectly lithe frame. Her clothes were Nootau Military National Guard. Having been a petty officer she was tasked with the mission of moving what she now called regs too the bunkers which kept most of the people safe that you saw walking about today. The settlement that grew out of the ashes of the incident was not a place Nell had felt safe they had walls and all but anyone can see their ideals were flawed for not letting anyone they could help in. Closing her two original eyes Nell would scan the park with her zoom feature gained from the maras mutation. Something blue would catch her eye and out of instinct she would swing her M16 over and into her hands positioning the scope in front of her forehead before taking the time too clearly see what seemed too be a girl enjoying the confines of the park. Nell would put the weapon away and think for a moment scratching her head. People like that were the ones too worry about having not been able to see the real world they often let their guard down and from the clean clothes and general body Nell could tell this person was most likely from the Aimon settlement. It didn't stop the sixteen year old from moving no Nell kept going until she was in the park, being a girl it would be a lie too say she did not enjoy relaxing within the park and smelling the flowers; taking in the sites could almost bring one back to a time in which the world was not a ruined wasteland. Once she was she sure she was in view of the girl Nell would offer a wave and keep walking heading toward the now broken statue in the park. If not stopped she would sit down and begin scanning the area for something too eat content with we flowers Nell would sit and take a handful, a mixture of dirt and flowers and stuff it into her mouth and after a few munches of handfuls she was what she refereed too as full or content. [googlefont="La Belle Aurore:400"] [attr="class","day"] 847 - Charlie Grey , Nell Heart | Notes: Feel free to spot Felix or not, and to find or not the time capsule mentioned in the post :3
"Gas' tank almost full. Great." With a quick turn of the hand, the Kombi's rattling engine was turned off. After picking the Lee-Enfield resting on the adjacent seat, Felix stepped out of the vehicle, weapon on both hands, observant of his surroundings. As he walked towards the exit of the garage, his eyes jumped from one side to the another, trying to catch anything on the surprisingly well lit streets.
And there was nothing - neither human, nor animal. Convinced that he was probably safe, the old man wrapped his rifle's sling on his shoulder, and turning back, cautiously grabbed the garage door's by its handle, pulling it in a single motion to the ground. Almost at the same time the door thumped in the ground, a metallic rattle emerged from Felix's pant pocket.
Weeks ago, he had found a house with an empty, strangely tall garage, an equally big car a few meters away from it, and a body in the middle of both. Rotten and wrinkled, the poor woman had nothing of value on her, except for a single key on her hands - the garage's. Since that day, the remote garage became a safe spot for Felix to park his RV.
Nervously, he chose the dead woman's key out of his other ones, and locked the garage door. Relief sprouted from his lips into a sigh - but soon enough, the Lee-Enfield was already on his hands as he walked down the ravaged street, in the direction of Sunset Rose Park. He kept telling himself that his objective today was to search the park for any flowering trees and brushes that would produce edible fruits, leaving marks nearby them for future harvesting. It wouldn't be a lie if this was the main reason.
But the true motive for Felix's little expedition today was another one.
In a few minutes, after treading carefully throughout exploded cars, piles of rubble, and then streets littered with bodies - a sight Felix was unfortunately getting more and more used to. As he reached one of the park's entrances, he saw a few body piles on the fence. Unfortunately this entrance was not of the scenic ones. The park's inner sections were never overcrowded, but the businesses in the entrances and borders, specially cafes, would attract hordes of citizens and tourists alike.
He gazed with bright eyes his wedding ring, and suddenly they became dead with sadness. "You hated the 'outer rim' so much, didn't you Charlotte? Maggie would pester you to buy her a hotdog or a poutine, and you hated the smell of both, and the people bumping on us like confused cattle. All you wanted was to explore the park like it was a new place every time we went to it..." He looked at the bright sky, walked some steps until entering the park's green area, and gazed the heavens once again. It looked lifeless to him, even as the flowers exhaled their comforting, sweet scent through the pathways of Sunset Rose.
A few tears escaped from the old man's eyes. Inhaling the fragrance of the roses nearby, he was able to dry his face and focus on his task. After around 8 minutes of walking, Felix marked three trees and four bushes that he recognized to produce edible fruits, and one sugar maple tree that he could sap for syrup if he wished to. "Wait...". The phrase came as an whisper, but in Felix's mind, it sounded more like a scream. He turned to his left and saw a familiar maple tree in the distance, near the famed park's statue. The true purpose of Felix's visit to the park was to dig out a time capsule he and his family made 10 years ago and buried near a maple tree next to the statue. Maggie planned to show it to her granddaughters.
It didn't matter anymore. Felix had no idea why he wanted to uncover the capsule. Maybe because he didn't want it to be found by other people, or it could be that he wanted to look at it.
He didn't have the time to discover his motives - a few meters away, he spotted a young girl digging the ground with a shovel - close to the spot where his family placed the time capsule. His already nervous semblance became one of terror. Lifting the Lee-Enfield to the level of his shoulders and reading it to be used, he stepped lightly and slowly towards the woman, until he heard a loud sound of footsteps in the grass. Startled, the old man turned around and hid himself behind a tree, trying to observe what was going to happen. The other woman was dressed in military attire. She looked younger than expected for a soldier, but was surely armed to the teeth - in sheer contrast to the friendly demeanor she expressed by waving to the other girl.
As he had no idea of what was going to happen, Felix stayed quiet and silent, at least as best as he could. There was no guarantee that he wouldn't be seen though. |

----- Charlie ----- tag: Nell Heart & @eliel1 // words:475 // notes:Hello~! Charlie continued to dig until he shovel hit something. She moved it aside and began to dig with her hands, clearing away the dirt around the object. Soon she uncovered a small chain and pulled lightly till it went taught and then dug more with her free hand. What was revealed was a small, silver locket on a thin, gold chain. She popped it open and inside was a picture of two people, they were both young, probably in their mid twenties. Both women were wearing dresses, wedding dresses. It was probably a picture from their wedding day. Charlie sighed and put the necklace on so the chain wouldn’t tangle. She picked up her shovel and began to dig again, slightly to the left of the other hole. Again, it wasn’t long before her shovel hit something. She dug around the object the best she could and soon pulled out a small metal tube. It looked like a time capsule, she’d made one a couple weeks ago with some of the other settlers and they’d buried it near a tree by the front gate. Charlie went to open it when a small bit of movement caught her eye. She looked up to see a young woman waving at her. She looked about Charlie’s age, tall and skinny, with blonde hair and blue eyes. Quite the sight. Another quick once over revealed that the young woman was carrying a gun.
The young brunette stood cautiously and watched as the other girl walked towards the broken statue that sat nearby. She witnessed the girl sit and scan the area before picking up a few handfuls of flowers, and probably dirt as well, and shove it into her mouth. It was an odd sight to see, but she just shrugged it off. Maybe she could make friends with the other girl, that would be nice. Making friends was always fun and it meant more allies in the cruel, unforgiving world that the island had become. She crouched down once more and picked up her things before stuffing them in her backpack and making her way over.
“Hello there!”
Charlie waved cheerfully and smiled down at her. She hadn’t met anybody while she was out and about before, so this was a new experience for her. She wasn’t sure what exactly was the proper procedure when meeting new people so she went with her instincts.
“Do you have a map on you? Cause I think I’m lost in your eyes.”
Charlie smirked and sat down in front of the other girl, putting a hand under her chin. She gazed into the girl’s eyes, they were a beautiful blue and she couldn’t help, but stare.

Nell would slowly finish off the "food" within her mouth then lean back over looking the area with a scan of her third eye, from where she was she could see the little girl was digging something out of the ground and interested Nell would grab another handful of dirt and stuff it back in her mouth. Now that she was thinking this was the only person she had seen in the last few days. As she tried too remember the last group of people she had meet she would turn her head and peer into a distant bush.
She was sure she had heard something and with a closer look she still didn't see anything and before Nell could stand up and go check it out she would turn and see the other girl walking up too her and offering a wave. Nell would smile as the girl began too speak but would be taken by surprise by her words. MAP! no she wasn't looking for the map Nell had found she was actually just flirting causing Nell too blush slightly the girl seemed about her age and was pretty but as she stared into Nell's eyes the three eye'd girl would slowly reach too her back and grab her M16.
"Hold that thought cutey."
Nell would stand up and lift her M16 scope too her third eye before letting off a single shoot. If one had been paying attention they would have seen it before a rather rabid looking dog moving toward the bush Nell was watching prior. The dog would flail flipping over as the bullet pierced it's skull and in almost military precision Nell would retrain her scope on too the bush.
"I saw you before, rather rude too hide in the apocalypse. "
The dog would squirm and Nell would lift her hand in a method as quick as breathing now holding her M16 in her left hand trained at the bush and her Fn five seven in her left; the pistol would leap twice. POW POW. And the dog would be down for good before Nell would place her gun away, she had no qualms about killing the rabid animals within the area but from experience she knew those gunshots would cause a lot of unwanted attention.

----- Charlie ----- The moment of peace was interrupted when her companion drew a gun and began pointing it towards a nearby bush. A shot rang out and Charlie reached up to cover her ears. She’d never been this close to a gun when it went off and it made her ears ring. She watched as the dog collapsed and squeezed her hands tighter over her ears as the blonde fired off two more shots. When Charlie was sure that no more would come, she uncovered her ears and stood.
“Well, that was certainly an experience. Maybe you could teach me how to do that?”
She wrapped her arms around the blonde’s and pulled herself in close. There was a moment of silence and she looked up gazing once more into those deep blue eyes. She definitely could not deny the beauty of the teen before her, though she wasn’t used to being around girls who were so much taller than her. Despite the fact that she’d hardly ever seen a gun, much less been right next to one when it went off, she remained cheerful as ever. Almso nothing could dim her spirit, she always bounced back so easily. Always ready with a pickup line or a flirtatious comment.
“That was quite impressive. Where did a pretty girl like you learn to shoot such a large weapon?”
Though it may not have been appropriate to flirt at the moment, she couldn’t help it. It was in her nature and she wouldn’t have it any other way. If Charlie was making the blonde uncomfortable, then hopefully the girl would tell Charlie and she would back down. She shook herself from her thoughts and looked around. The gunshots were quite loud, hopefully they wouldn’t attract any animals or unwanted visitors to the park. Charlie had known there was a risk in going out on her own, which meant she had come prepared for a fight. She had three knives stashed on her person within easy reach. If need be she could substitute a stick or a tree branch as a weapon and if need be she could ask the blonde-haired stranger if she could borrow one of her guns.
That was a last resort though, Charlie had never actually fired a gun before so she doubted she would actually hit what she was aiming for. She’d have to ask one of the other settlers to teach her how to shoot. It would be a useful skill to have and afterwards she could go scavenging at the police station for at least a small handgun in case of emergencies.

With the range and everything it was a pretty easy shoot, however Nell would not move in the slightest her eyes however would be scanning over the body of the dog she had just shoot. From what she knew the dogs moved in packs something that allowed them to contend with larger predators and likewise use slippery tactics in order too get food. Considering this one as his there had too be others somewhere. Nell would shift pivoting on her left heel before noticing what she was looking for another dog and this one see me slightly bigger than the prior one. Her stance would stiffen and two shoots would ring out into the air; the first would hit the dog in the right side then the last would hit it dead in the head effectively ending it's life. Just to make sure Nell would scan the area noise would draw more unwanted attention she figured it was necessary given the chance any animal would feast on two humans in the open like this. Now that everything was quiet the most part Nell would sling her rifle back over her shoulder than turn to the girl giving a small smile. It was good to meet some cheerful like this girl.
"I could train you if we hung out more."
A swing of her hips and a small cock her head was all Nell could manage before she was hugged by the girl, it was odd but Nell didn't take any offense to if only finding the deep eye to eye contact kinda weird. Being so close Nell could truly appreciate Charlie features and she figured the girl was cute in a normal kind of way that cause her to somewhat stand out.
"Petty Major Nell First Class at your service!"
Holding Nell Charlie would feel the girls body tense as she spoke, it was something ingrained in her since she stared the military academy. Present Rank, Stand Ready and Salute. If that was not enough to identify Nell the numerous medals on her army outfit would. She knew it was getting late and figured she could either invite the girl along with her or talk for a little longer than part ways .

----- Charlie ----- tag: Nell Heart // words: 224 // notes: Sorry it's late The hip swing got her attention and Charlie smirked. It was always fun when other people played along. It made things so much more interesting and it usually went smoother. If someone played along it usually meant they enjoyed it which also meant Charlie wasn’t making anyone uncomfortable.
“I’d love to hang out more. Tell me when and where and I’ll be there. I mean, who could resist having more time to gaze into those beautiful blue eyes of yours. Throw me a rope, I think I might be drowning.”
She giggled when the girl, Nell, saluted. Looking over Nell once more, she noticed the numerous medals decorating the girl’s uniform. The brunette came to the assumption that Nell must have been very good at whatever her job had been. Jokingly, she pulled an arm free and saluted back.
“Professional Adventurer Charlie at your service.”
She tried her best to keep a straight face, but ended up breaking out into giggles. She backed away from Nell, covering her mouth in an effort to suppress her laughter. Charlie took a few breaths and looked up, a grin still on her face.
“Sorry, I couldn’t help it. I’m not trying to be rude or anything, I swear.”
