The initial impression to how the day would be like on this fine spring morning was pleasant. The sunlight was warm and the breeze made certain that any survivor or mutated animal would not feel too hot. At first the weather did not match the atmosphere created by the deteriorating buildings that suffered the damages of Madman, however, it all shifted in a matter of moments. Around noon grey clouds rolled in, blocking out the sun and the wind picked up speed until it howled loudly. It left Lachlan wishing that there were still weather reports or that the Aimon Settlement could at the very least make predictions.
Each step seemed to only cause the blond man to shiver due to the violent winds that kicked up dust from the streets. He wore a blue sweater since he had neglected to bring his coat with the presumption that the weather would continue to lull the surviving creatures of the apocalypse. The pair of blue jeans he wore had long grown dust covered, the winds working effortlessly to contribute to that. Lachlan moved with his arms wrapped around him, a feeling of lonesomeness wrapping around him, he had always despised being alone for even short periods of time. The regular man wore his usually black headband in his hair, his walnut coloured eyes keeping a vigilant watch. His feet seemed to shuffle down the side walk while he moved and released an inaudible sigh. While he looked across the road, his foot caught on something, specifically his own foot which by some misfortune lost balanced due to a slightly raised section of concrete. For a moment his arms pinwheeled in a futile attempt to regain balance.
Falling was never a shock for Lachlan, he was an absolute klutz which made him practically unfazed when he lost balance. His hands went out in hopes he could catch himself before he collided with the ground, this attempt being a tad more successful. The blond man hit the concrete, his hands sliding a little against the rough surface which caused him to grit his teeth. He sat up quickly from the position and shook his stinging hands before sparing a glance at them.
"Oh... shoot. Not again," Lachlan mumbled.
A few scraps covered his hands from the fall, which were a common injury for the clumsy blond man. The scrapes bled slightly, but nothing that was overly significant and small specs of dirt was in the wound. Walking was more difficult of a task for Lachlan it seemed since he tended to trip over almost anything or even nothing. It was rather pathetic and caused him to sport bruises, scrapes and even the occasional cut. An annoyed huff escaped his mouth as Lachlan stood back to his feet, gently wiping his scrapped hands against his jean. He would have to clean them once he found a refuge from the wind. Despite still feeling cold, Lachlan shoved his hands into his sweater pockets and began to glance around. At last his walnut eyes noticed the library, a place he frequented prior and due to this he was aware they stored clothes in the basement. Perhaps if he could find a clean water source he could at least wash the scrapes up a little.
The blond walked up to the building, pushing open the front door he had gone through numerous times. Once free from the wind, Lachlan gave a sigh of relief until he glanced at the glass near the front door. His face bore a few small dust smudges and his hair was a disheveled mess. His clothes did not fair much better with the numerous dust patches they had gained, but dirty clothing was a common in the post-apocalypse. A slight frown came about the blond's face, he had plans to flirt with some of the male settlers and doing so looking like this would be rather unimpressive. Lachlan shrugged before using the cleaner sleeve of his sweater to wipe the dirt smudges off and took a few moments to tidy his hair so no bits would fall into his line of sight.
Afterwards, his eyes returned to the many shelves of books that created a maze of wonderful literature. A second howl of wind confirmed that he was likely going to stick around the library for a while, or at least until he had no choice, but to return to the Aimon Settlement. Thus, he began to walk down the isles in search of some romance based books, forgetting for a moment about the clothes in the basement and his scrapped hands while he walked.

| Ferryl had a cheery little hop to his step, despite the wind that blew debris into his hair and eyes. The boy looked quite pleased with himself, smirking as he walked down the street of Nootau. Today, since it was so warm, he wore brown cargo shorts and a plain white t-shirt. He had just completed a successful mission to gather some food for himself. Outside of Nootau was a small orchard that had fruit of all kinds growing: apples, cherries, pears, you name it. The only downside of stealing from the City Side Orchard was there were a group of bandits that claimed land to it, building up fences and bearing arms to chase away potential theives. But Ferryl was a professional at this point. He could scout out a weak point and find a way in, only inside the perameters of the orchard long enough to take what he needed and run.
He had collected four apples and a handful of cherries that were wrapped carefully in a shirt that was used as a bag. The shirt was folded at every edge and carefully attached to Ferryl's belt. He always made sure not to steal too much in case the weight of the makeshift bag gave away and he would lose his spoils. Plus he didn't want to be slowed down if he was caught stealing. With the thought, his hand instinctively went down to touch the bag, caressing it against his thigh with possessiveness.
The wind picked up again, harsher than the last gus, and Ferryl grunted, rubbing at his eyes to get the dirt out. When he dropped his hands, he noticed a blond man walking several meters in front of him. His eyebrow raised, wondering where the man was headed. It was then that Ferryl witnessed the guy trip... on himself. He snorted, finding it very amusing, but didn't call out or run over and help. He'd rather shadow the guy and see where he was headed. Maybe the man was going somewhere Ferryl could steal from later.
With his hands up to protect his face from the wind, Ferryl trailed behind the blond boy. It wasn't long before the man headed toward the library, a safehaven for sure. Ferryl clicked his tongue and stood outside the library doors. After counting to twenty, he bounded up the steps and opened the doors, peeking his head in to be sure the blond boy wasn't standing in the door way. He wasn't, of course, so Ferryl let himself in and began to brush his dusty clothes off. After doing a haphazard job, he combed his fingers through his course hair. Dust fell and he grimaced. He hated being dirty.
Ferryl could hear the blond man further in the library, he was walking up and down the isle. What was he looking for? Before Ferryl would both to go over there, he didn't want to look like a dirty dog. So, with force, Ferryl shook like a dog, letting dirt fall out of his hair. He then used his fingers to style his hair back, feeling satisfied, he made his way to the isle he could hear the other boy in.
Ferryl stalked the isles, glancing in between shelves to catch a glimpse at the boy. Finally, his curiosity dampened so he decided to confront the man. Not in an aggressive way, of course, but so the other knew that he had company. The man tripped over himself, for the Creator's sake, he didn't seem like much of a threat.
Ferryl moved swiftly, poking his head around the corner of the books where Lachlan was browsing. His ears perked and he said with a smirk on his face. "Are you really looking for romance, or those steamy harlequin novels? Not sure which is funnier." |

As he waltz around the library, Lachlan was unbeknownst to his stalker; he had been so focus getting out of the vicious weather that he had forgotten completely about checking is surroundings. While he walked over to the romance section with complete certainty in his step, he once again tripped over nothing, but his own two feet. His balance wavered, arms pinwheeled for the second time until he collided with the filthy carpet of the library floor. This time he narrowly managed to catch himself, but he felt the sting of his scrapes. They stung fiercely and his hands seemed to throb due to them. Lachlan groaned in annoyance, this curse of clumsiness could truly be the biggest nuisance that plagued his post-apocalypse life. Gently, he rubbed his aching hands on his shirt, finding the cool fabric to be a pleasure to his injured hands.
He returned to his feet with a determination to not collide with the ground again today, thus he walked carefully. The pace of his movements slowed a bit as he moves, but it was worth it if he did not fall. Finally, he reached the section filled with his favored type of literature, romance. His walnut eyes looked over the various titles, most of which were familiar to him. His finger gently touched the spines, going along the books that aligned the vast shelves. However, his attention left the books when he heard someone speaking to him. He glanced over to see man with wolf akin features sporting a smirk on his face. While the wolf man spoke, Lachlan was happily obsessing over the fact that he had just discovered his latest flirt victim, and he seemed like quite the cutie with those wolf ears. He listened, and without hesitation thought of the perfect way to start his flirting assault.
"Yes, I quite enjoy romance novels." Lachlan began, leaving the shelf behind opting to close the distance between him and the stranger. "I must admit though, I had been looking for something else that I didn't expect to find. That being a handsome angel like yourself." He flashed the stranger a charming smile before reaching out to gently grab his hand and lay a kiss small kiss on his knuckles. "You know, I would call Heaven to let them know your missing, but then that means you would have to go and before I saw you, I never knew love at first sight was real."
His words were smooth, he had long grown use to spilling out words of love to the point where he no longer even felt the faintest hint of embarrassment. Thus there was not a hint of blush on Lachlan's face as he spoke the words, he had to convey his interest some how. He felt confident in what he said, and prayed to whatever God would listen that this stranger that he had met would not state that he was heterosexual, that always made things quite awkward. Especially since Lachlan would feel the need to apologize then probably get out of the place as quick of possible. He excitedly watched for the reaction to his words, hoping for anything positive like a blush or something. The idea of gaining some sort of romance with anybody was always a commonly fantasized thought for the blond since the very concept of receiving the signs of love made him feel giddy.
"Anyways, my name is Lachlan and if you would be willing to bless me with yours, I would be happy to hear it," Lachlan stated, flashing another smile.
The blond was fairly certain that he had done an excellent job with his initial flirt attack, but he continued to review numerous more pick-up lines and various other words he could say to the stranger. He held his confidence since romance was something he had devoted his time to learning and to Lachlan failure was never an option, thus he would keep trying so long as he was not begged to stop or informed that the stranger was not interested.

| Ferryl instantly found himself raising his eyebrow in disbelief at the stranger. He was frozen on the spot, gears churning in his head to try and comprehend what was happening. The words that Lachlan were saying were not something Ferryl was making up... that much was made obvious when Ferryl's hand was grasped in Lachlan's soft hands and his lips were planting a little kiss on his knuckles. Who in the world flirts with someone in this way? It was very hard to believe this was something that happened in the real world. "What?" Was the only clever thing that came from the wolf man's mouth. The word was uttered in a whisper as he was still trying to come to terms with the cheesy flirting.
"What?!" Ferryl demanded again, much louder this time. His cheeks grew hot from his embarrassment. This was not the sort of situation the mutant boy thought he would find himself in today. Or ever, really. He had picked a bunch of lovely apples and followed a handsome man into the library. Usually that awarded him suspicion and hostility. But this? Never in a million years would Ferryl imagine this happening to him. It wasn't until Lachlan was staring at him expectedly did Ferryl become aware that he had failed to answer his question. The blond boy just introduced himself and it was standard to answer in return.
"Er," He began, not so smoothly, "Ferryl. The name's Ferryl." The wolf was collecting himself slowly, beginning to come to terms with what had occurred. It appeared that this boy was very much interested in the wolf man. That was something Ferryl could stand behind... or in front of. It's been awhile since Ferryl had some fun with a local survivor, and this guy was basically throwing himself at the wolf willingly.
Understanding what this could lead to, Ferryl offered Lachlan a devilish smile. His cheeks were still red from the initial shock, but he was feeling more confident in their interaction. He cleared his throat, taking a step toward Lachlan and reaching into the makeshift bag on his hip. As his hands reached for an apple, he began to talk to his companion in his deep, seductive voice, "You know, I could give you what you want for far less words. You don't have to try and impress anyone. Not with a face like yours."
Ferryl managed to grab hold of an apple, pulling it out and offering it silently to Lachlan without taking his red eyes off of him. This could be fun... |

Being his flirtatious self seemed to pay off for Lachlan when he saw the wolf man's eye brows raise. Clearly, he had not been expecting to be complimented by a complete stranger. It was certainly fun teasing guys with his flirting and it conveyed the idea of being single. Lachlan soon released Ferryl's hand from his grasp and with a smile on his face watched what his cheesy flirting managed to do. The repetition of the word 'what' confirmed that the man was still in shock over his actions and words. To make things better, a blush began to coat his cheeks and he had not stated anything that would be a misfortune to Lachlan's ear; those being that he was not homosexual or in a relationship. Thus as far as Lachlan would be concerned, he had full right to continue his flirting.
"No need to question your ears, I can assure you that it was unlikely you miss heard me," Lachlan said in a gentle voice.
Quietly, the blond attempted not to burst out in an excited fit over the stranger's reddened cheeks, it was adorable when his victims blushed! It assured him that he was likely doing an excellent job with his romantic banter. Lachlan kept his eyes locked on the boy's eyes, he had a plan that he needed to follow after all. When the mutated man introduced himself, Lachlan's smile broadened and he prepared for his next line.
"Ferryl," he said, testing the name. When he pronounced it correctly, he continued. "How lovely, but I must ask. Do you have a map, because I believe I may have gotten lost in your eyes. Then again, I would presume so since anybody can get lost in their beauty. They're have the loveliness of rubies."
Lachlan was enjoying this conversation, especially since Ferryl had not tried to cease his flirting. Naturally, the flirt considered this a good reason to merely continue firing off cheesy pick-up lines. They seemed to be doing the trick considering Ferryl's cheeks still red. Lachlan folded his arms around his back, but it did not appear he was the only one capable of playing the flirting game. A look of mild shock came upon Lachlan's face, not many of his victims attempted to flirt back with him. This was most certainly about to get interesting. With a smile still drawn on his lips, Lachlan gently took the apple while he repressed his desire to start fan-girling as the fact that somebody had responded to his flirting with more.
"Oh? But I insist, somebody of such beauty and wonder deserves to informed of another's opinions," Lachlan responded. For only a mere second he paused before adding onto his comment. "Especially since if beauty were time, you would be eternity."
He kept his eyes on Ferryl, silently screaming in excitement over the concept of somebody flirting back to him. He was quite enjoying this fun conversation. However, he was starting to wonder if perhaps he was taking this a tad too far after Ferryl's last comment. Lachlan decided to watch and see what kind of situation his flirting was about to get him into.

| When Lachlan stared into Ferryl's eyes, he couldn't help but glance away every so often; the intensity behind his eyes was too intimidating. He couldn't believe there existed anyone in the universe who would actually use cruddy pickup lines to flirt. But this guy was confident doing so. Still, it indicated that Ferryl was probably going to get out of this situation quite satisfied. Though not being able to look at Lachlan's face for too long was frustrating him... In an act of defiance to himself, Ferryl looking into Lacklan's pretty walnut eyes. He stared at them, trying not to flinch away. No one has looked at him this way.. the most Ferryl got was hungry eyes that wanted to shred his clothes to bit. But Lachlan's eyes were much softer... it was curious.
Finding the look of shock on Lachlan's face after Ferryl started flirting back amused him greatly. It appeared the boy was not use to having what he dished out served back to him. Did Lachlan use this cheesy lines on everyone? Admittingly, he was good at it. But Ferryl was beginning to wonder if the blonde boy knew how to "flirt appropriately", or what he deemed appropriately. Weren't people suppose to talk normally with just a little more indication of romance? It sounded like Lachlan was taking his lines straight from a "how to pick up boys" books. Well, Ferryl decided he would keep on what he was doing and explore his company a little more.
When Lachlan took the apple and spoke, Ferryl smirked and made it obvious he was checking the other boy out. "Well, I can assure you there are other ways to tell me I'm beautiful. You can only do so much with reading and talking. And boy, let me tell you... " Ferryl pushed himself forward, taking slow, slow steps toward Lachlan. He didn't say another word until he was standing just inches away from Lachlan, having to tilt his head upward to see him since he was much taller than the short mutant. "we could spend eternity here and I'd be far more than willing. You're absolutely beautiful... but I'm staring to think all you do is talk. Don't you ever put those little words to practice?"
Ferryl often tried to be as smooth as he could be when he wanted some action. Pre-apocalypse, the boy would wonder the street and find many men who were willing to have a little quickie in the alleyway. The majority were older than him, and liked him because he was a "twink", or so they called him. Getting action post-apocalypse was much harder... but Ferryl was still confident in himself and had a little- or rather, tall- gay boy practically throwing himself at him. That was the sort of thing Ferryl loved to see... though it was normally him who started the flirting. Oh well, he could handle this... right? |

A smile was placed on Lachlan's face when Ferryl kept looking away. It was merely added to Lachlan's list of reasons to continue using the cheesy pick-up lines especially since most people would have laughed at him by now. In the blond's mind there was no reason to change his tactics if they appeared to be working efficiently, however, he was of course unaware of Ferryl's true thoughts to his flirting attempts. Lachlan's eyes remained gentle, he did not seek anything vile, he never had. The only thing the blond had ever wanted was somebody to cherish and love even though it would never be like the fictional romantic literature he read at a constant.
Most of Lachlan's flirting came from some of the more cliche based romance stories alongside written pieces he found of the internet prior to the apocalypse. So long as no disinterest was conveyed, his cheesy tactics would remain heavily used. Yet, there was still that thought of perhaps going a tad too far and possibly landing himself into some unexpected trouble; Lachlan prayed that would not happen. The blond's walnut eyes managed to catch the wolf man's smirk as he clearly began checking him out, which did happen on occasion with other victims, and him get closer. As he spoke, Lachlan's cheeks tinted a light pink, he had gone too far. He had managed to convey a completely different interest than the one he was trying too which meant this was a flirting failure. This kind of misunderstanding had happened numerous times since some believed he was looking for action, but that was not true. Flirting was merely a way to convey his single status and for some enjoyment when the boys blushed at his words.
The blond needed to breathe a few moments until he could speak again. "But that would merely make each word I spoke a deception, an attempt for only pleasure." It started shaky, but as Lachlan continued his confidence returned. "I would not say such things just for that. I'm sorry, but I do honestly search for somebody to love in a simpler manner and perhaps one day more. If there were people who deceived you into such things with words of kindness, I can already say that I'm nothing like them."
The blond flash Ferryl a small smile, an attempt to display that his thoughts were clean and innocent. His eyes kept a gentler look to them when he looked at the wolf man, although the mild blush below them from the previous words stated by Ferryl remained. He offered his hand, but then his walnut eyes finally noticed the scrapes and his face fell.
"Oh, shoot. I forgot about that," Lachlan uttered. "I still have to tend to my hands, they got scrapped up earlier. Care to join me? Perhaps an angel like you can give me a blessing." He punctuated his last sentence with a small smile then offered his arm instead.

| Ferryl blinked quite a few times at Lachlan. He had never in his life been flirted with without the expectation of sex to be involved. He never thought of it as a deception, just a means for both party to enter into an agreement. It never bothered Ferryl before. This man was looking for something much purer and harder to obtain now that the world was trying to survive in the post-apocalypse world. It was cute. Admirable, really.
"Oh, gurl," Ferryl began, flicking his wrist in Lachlan's direction. His face changed from that of seduction to a cheerful expression. Lachlan had made his intentions very clear, and Ferryl would respect that. "You are much more optimistic than some, aren't you? In the search of love in this day in age? Aren't you worried someone is going to take advantage of you? A boy so cute and kind has to be careful. But if you need... " He offered a shrug, "well, I wouldn't mind being your body guard. No one would dare mess around with a man with a wolf."
Ferryl looked down at Lachlan's scraped hand, raising an eyebrow and then looking up at the other man's face. He silently agreed that this was something to deal with to prevent any possible infection that wanted to settle in the wound. Was there something in the library that could be useful? The best places to took, Ferryl knew, was behind the reception's desk as well as bathrooms. He wanted to be helpful to Lachlan. The boy was curious, and Ferryl liked curious people.
"Come on, then. Let's go see if there's some bandages or something." |

The amount of surprise that Lachlan could see on Ferryl's face was a mild concern; had many merely flirted with him with the expectation of pleasure? He honestly hated the idea since it made his flirting expeditions seem like searches of sexual pleasure, which was far from the truth. Although, the blond had grown accustomed to people thinking that, but it would still annoy him at times nonetheless. Lachlan could always imagine how people would shroud any person with beautiful words in attempt to get something back meanwhile he loved telling people how beautiful they were. When Ferryl spoke again, dropping the seductive expression Lachlan grinned. It gave him assurance that Ferryl was unlikely to keep pushing, it was a respect anyone could appreciate. Quietly, Lachlan listened to what the wolfman had to say, his heart swelling a tad when he was referred to as cute; he always loved it when guys called him cute. Being referred to as such meant he was doing an excellent job in the appearance department.
A gentle sigh escaped Lachlan's mouth. "Of course, there will always be people in the world like that. However, if I don't risk it, it means I can't possibly find the person I was meant to love." He stated it simply and took a moment to imagine what it would be like to be around said person. "A bodyguard?" Lachlan smiled after saying the words himself. "I could hardly complain if it means I get to spend more time with you. I just hope there is nothing against flirting with my guard since it would be awfully difficult to resist with an adorable face like that."
Naturally, Lachlan still could not stave away the urge to shower the wolfman with compliments; flirting was a fierce habit for the blond. All the while the blond did his best not to have one of his infamous excited outbursts over how kind his companion was being and over the concept of him possibly being the one. He did love the idea of love after all and longed for the day he found someone who made his heart soar. When Ferryl mentioned bandages and began walking back towards the reception desk, Lachlan followed with a grin upon his face. In all honesty, the blond had forgotten the bathroom's existence. He had never been particularly good at remembering things and half the time he was enjoying romantic pieces to really pay attention to his surroundings.
"Thanks for helping me by the way," Lachlan said cheerfully.
Despite the fact that it was merely a search that the blond could conduct on his own, Lachlan still felt the need to thank his company. The tall man thought for a moment, if he was going to flirt with Ferryl he ought to learn a couple of facts about his companion in case he did fall in love with him.
"So, are you from around here? Or am I right when I said you from Heaven?" Lachlan asked.
