Abilities
One of the abilities Chikara has, which is her main one, is strength fluctuation. The way this works is that Chikara can increase or decrease her muscle mass and change her strength as she sees fit. This does have its own drawbacks as well, whereas when she decreases the amount of muscle in her body, she becomes weaker but faster, and when she increases the mass, she becomes stronger but slows down. In normal circumstances, she keeps a muscular form that allows her to hit hard, but doesn't make her very sluggish. Her "base" build is slightly stronger than the average female bodybuilder, in the weakest and fastest build, she is barely stronger than an early teenager, and at her strongest and slowest build, she's three times stronger than her base.
Her second ability that correlates directly with her first is enhanced durability. On a normal day, Chikara is durable enough to take multiple hits and blasts OR one fatal strike or blast that would do serious damage to a normal human. As Chikara uses her main ability, her durability also changes with it in almost the same way. A smaller masculinity equals less durability, less so comparable to a normal human, and a larger masculinity equals more durability, to the point where normal humans aren't much of an issue when it comes to physical damage. Her durability does not protect her from bullets or weapons that can impale her.
background
Chikara was born in the U.K. in Watford. She lived there until she was nine, and lived a relatively joyful life. She had only a few but close friends, but the other children were relatively friendly toward her. Back then, she wasn't very interested in sports or athletic activities, and instead enjoyed traveling with her parents to different parts of England. Back in those days, she thought that nothing terrible could ever happen in such a peaceful country. But she was in for something that would change her forever.
On her 9th birthday, she and her parents to a trip to go to a distant island known as Iona. Chikara loved the lush island, and it came to the point where she begged her parents to stay. Surprisingly, they agreed to stay on the island as long as the young girl wouldn't act out and do something stupid. Unfortunately, she stayed out of trouble and the family gradually became attached to the island and its people. They spoke of their home to others who had come from other countries and everything seemed great. Until things took a turn for Chikara.
When she began to attend school again, she was being noticeably teased and made fun of unlike how it was in England. Whether it be stupid nonsensical insults or jokes that made fun of where she came from, it made her dislike going back to school. The only good thing that she thought came out of this was that she lost her English accent in normal conversations, which took away some of the torment, but it was still overwhelming for her.
By the end of 6th grade, she was ignoring her bullies, acting like they didn't hurt her, and over time, it didn't anymore. Chikara didn't go outside much anymore because of the animals' growing aggression, and every day the girl that was joyful and playful began to waste away. Maybe this trip was a mistake.
As she entered 7th grade, she became more athletic and began to practice wrestling, which she had learned of a few years earlier. She wasn't the best, but she could certainly hold her own. This was something that gave her happiness again, and she was hopeful that this was the beginning of a new light for her in Nootau. But she would be sadly mistaken in years come.
Five years later, she was there to see the announcement of the chemical known as Maras, and so were her parents. They kept her more secluded from the outside world and made her dropout of high school just as she entered senior year. While it discouraged her that she could no longer participate in the wrestling program, she still practiced at home, still having a shred of hope that her parents would stop acting nuts and let her go back to what she liked to do.
Months later, Bio-weapon madman was unleashed. Chikara was stuck in a poorly-made bunker made by her parents, and despite the danger, she wanted to finally get out of her parents' grasp. So, the next day, when others came out to see the damage and settle back in, she left the captivity that her parents had put her in and went out in the world.
During her freedom, she was exposed to the Maras and strange happenings began to occur. Her build fluctuated constantly in the beginning until it eventually settled into what she now called her "base." The entire experience was painful for her physically and mentally, not knowing what was happening to her. But once it all settled, she felt a sort of... reassurance. A sign that things were just getting started. But once again... life came to screw her up again. She soon found out that her parents came looking for her and didn't come back. She looked for them day and night, but she couldn't understand any trace of them. And yet, she felt a lot less depressed than she ever thought....
In wonder of what to do next, she came across the Aimon Settlement, and even though they were hesitant on bringing another mutant in, she was allowed in. From then on, she began yet another brand new life there, where she would do anything in order to help the settlement. She would not see these people suffer when she had seen so much and become something that could either help the civilization rise... or fall.
