Light grey clouds coated the sky and blocked out the sun, making the atmosphere gloomy. A small drizzle fell from the clouds, making tiny puddles that dotted the crack ridden sidewalks of Nootau. Despite only the slight wet, Vylad had long pulled his fur lined hood over his head and shoved his hands into the depths of his pockets. Since there was a lacking in wind, the miscreant did not bother to zip his hood up since his pyrokinesis seemed to keep him naturally warm, however, like a double-edged sword it made even the slightly drizzle annoying. Vylad did not like water much before, but nowadays it always seemed like more of a bother.
The ravenette walked and grumbled inaudibly to himself about the slight drizzle. It had done nothing to him, obvious by the fact the thick black make-up around his eyes remained intact and he was dry for the most part. Cautiously, Vylad kept walking down the sidewalks without any supplies on him; honestly he just wanted to walk around for the sake of some thinking time and exploring. His eyes for the most part remained glued to the sidewalk as he recklessly walked out in the open for any lurking survivors or mutated animals could see him. Every so often he would glance around to check his surroundings, his yellow eyes soon noticing the towers and manor akin structure of city hall. Vylad had seen the structure a couple of times during his four years in the city, but never had he entered the building nor had he thought about going within the walls.
With a small shrug, the miscreant began to walk towards the front entrance with certainty that exploring some place outside of the light rain would be a lot more enjoyable. He narrowly slipped through the door which hung slightly off its hinges, it was unlikely to move without squeaking. Once within the building, Vylad's yellow eyes wondered around the entrance room which had a large desk with significant water damage and a couple of marks. Small droplets leaked through the ceiling and a few tiny puddles were also within city hall, but it was not nearly as bad as the outside.
In a swift movement, Vylad removed his hood and looked around some more. There was plenty of damaged office equipment and papers littered the floor like a filthy white carpet. His hands returned to his coat pocket while he slowly did a circle from his current location to survey the area. It seemed likely that he would be having some fun exploring city hall, thus a small smile was planted on Vylad's face and for a moment he thought that perhaps he could find something cool to show Macy.

Zane was in need of a gear shaft, of a certain size, to try and fix an ATV side-by-side, of course then he would need fuel, but he had enough stored away...not that he would tell anyone else that. The fact he had several hundred gallons of diesel and Gasoline stored in an underground tank on his property, would bring raiders to his door in a heart beat.
He had been going over some blueprints he had found in the City Works building, and found that the City Hall generator had been replaced, but the old one had been left installed, and the dimensions were correct to have the parts he needed, and more besides.
So he was in the basement of the town hall and had struck gold, well black gold. The new generator still had about five hundred gallons of straight diesel in its tank, and the old generator had exactly the part he needed, and a couple of spares too. He forced the door to the tank shut, and barricaded it from the inside, then Shadow Jumped to the outside hall. Even someone who could throw a pick up truck wouldn't be able to force that door open...
He headed up the stairs, then heard the sound of papers rustling, his cat lie ears swiveled, pinpointing the noise. He drew the CO2 powered auto Crossbow he had jury-rigged, and primed the first bolt, the CO2 compressor drawing the string tight.

The carpet of papers were gradually becoming the bane of Vylad's existence as each step seemed to cause a rustle. Considering the floor was also slick with puddles of water, the miscreant was forced into caution to make certain he would not end up tumbling to the ground as a result to the wet. A barely audible sigh of annoyance escaped his mouth, he hated the rain with a passion. Slowly, he approached the front desk and peered over at an old office chair and a broken computer. There were binders of papers that had clearly suffered from the wet, winter likely being the primary perpetrator to the damage. Vylad shrugged at it, there was nothing really interesting about the area.
He turned away from the desk, heading towards some filing cabinets that were shoved in the corner with copious more books, these ones seeming to lack damage, on top. Dents adorned the cabinet's exterior alongside various scuff marks which suggested that apocalypse had abused the office piece. Vylad reached for the first drawer, curious to the contents of the cabinet, but forgetting about his surroundings. The drawer clicked open, revealing lines of files with nicely written text marking each the sections. Before the ravenette even managed a glance at the assortment of papers, he finally preformed a glance around he finally noticed the man with cat ears and a crossbow... Well, this was a precarious situation he had just gotten himself into.
Vylad put his hands up, he did not carry any weapons since his pyrokinesis was adequate protection from survivors and mutated animals. "Whoa, buddy. I'm not here to hurt ya, didn't even notice you were here." Vylad said gently, trying to free himself from this unfortunate turn of events. A nervous look was on Vylad's face, clearly he did not like these circumstances. "I can promise I'm not a bandit and I've got nothin' on me."
While Vylad stood there speaking words of peace, he began to think of a possible escape route should this turn hostile. Fighting somebody during the rain was not a favored concept to the ravenette since should he get wet his abilities would be practically useless. He was also fairly certain he could not defeat a man with a crossbow with just luck inducement and mind block and although Vylad was a risk taker he would not gamble in this case.

Zane blinked. He had perfect pitch hearing, and could tell when someone was lying. This guy wasnt lying about not wanting trouble. The cat-man lowered his crossbow with an apologetic shrug.
"No such thing as too careful these. I wont cause trouble if you don't. I just needed some spare parts."
He held up the cloth bag filled with heavy pieces of iron and steel.
"I wasnt sure if you were a bandit or an animal, ive seen some with human-ish shapes, so i play it safe."

Post by Kraun on May 25, 2017 0:53:52 GMT
The rain was welcome, and for the most part Kraun could move about freely. His little bunch of hand picked killers were hungry and not for the meal any survivors were hunting for on the daily. No they were all at heart killers it was why they were picked and at the front of them was Kraun, his porcelain skin reflecting on a sunlight which gaped through the clouds offering the light rain. His group was small only ranging five but his group of bandits were known already. With the food they had gotten from Felix they were all now well feed and ready to kill. Each carrying the same spears they had began making in the prison along with the metal sheet armor likening each to a sort of knight. The armor would block most blades and such but bullets would rip through if they were of a solid caliber.
The goal of the day was to initially up other people's day and find some useful supplies along the way, they had been through most of the town and could only find a handful of survivors here and there, still the blood leaking from Krauns mouth clearly was still there through the light drizzle of rain. The group would stop as Kraun lifted his head and offered a inhale the nostril holes on his face would open then close, he could smell some people near. Their heightened anxiety and there sweat mixed into a pungent odor that one would think Kraun could see with his own eyes as he looked toward the city hall entrance and gave a slight scan of the decaying building.
He would send two people in and wait, he was not the type of killer to get caught even before the Maras had affected him he carried each murder with skill and precision, were as most likened him to a simple brute due to his new found powers it played well in the fear aspect of leading a group such as this. The clatter of the metal covered prisoners would be heard easily as they entered the building not bothering to remain silent they knocked things down and moved further into the building until the heard sound and whipped past a corner to see the two in front of them. Zane and Vylad of course they didn't know there names but they had visual conformation to ascertain the fact they were not prisoners and quickly each of the two would launch there throwing spears at the two one aimed at each, the speed and strength of the throws were not gifted but it as obvious they were practiced in the art; a overhand throw allowing the rope attached to be yanked back at the moment of impact to keep a grip on a target.
Outside the building Kraun would wait he didn't care if the two inside came back alive on the contrary he hoped he would be able to find someone in which he could properly hunt and rejuvenate the joy he once had for the art which was murder.

When the mutant with the crossbow lowered his crossbow with a shrug, Vylad felt a sense of relief. Honestly, the miscreant thought that he would not be free from the crossbow's sight with a couple of words. He lowered his hands, shoving them back into his coat pocket with a small smile on his face. Kindness was something to e appreciated during the post-apocalypse. The deal was fair, if Vylad did not cause trouble to the stranger than the stranger would remain peaceful. There were no complaints to be registered about the concept. The fellow survivor was merely searching for parts, which meant it was unlikely he was looking to pick a fight.
"I see, well thanks. I thought I would be in trouble for not paying attention. That would have been a dumb reason to die. He put some genuine appreciation in his voice, mostly because he did not want the stranger to aim his crossbow at him again. When the cat-man mentioned being uncertain to what he was, Vylad gave a nod. "Fair enough. Can't blame ya since I would probably do the same. You can never know what's about."
The miscreant was relieved, but he could not help to wonder what this man with feline characteristics needed spare parts for. However, Vylad decided not to press the idea since he would not doubt that some survivors prefer to keep their secrets. Yet, the contents of the cloth bag would remain a curiosity was definite. He shrugged it off, deciding to look around a moment since he had made the ignorant mistake of not surveying his surroundings prior. That was when he caught sight of a pair of figured brandishing spears and clad in knight akin armour and based on their approach they definitely were not friendly. When they brought their spears up to throw, Vylad began to understand that they were certainly not interested in being nice. As the spear came his way, Vylad backpedaled and watched it pass by and embed itself into the wall.
"Doesn't look like they're friendly though," Vylad muttered, narrowly keeping his voice quiet.
Clearly, there was going to be no choice, but to fight the opposing people. Since the stranger showed him mercy from the fate of being struck with a crossbow bolt, Vylad figured that he could at least help him handle these spear brandishing criminals. Within a few moments, fire engulfed his hands and made a thin circle around him, most of it being deterred by the wet floor. Vylad raised his hand towards the pair and sent fire spitting their way, although he was fairly certain it would only hit one of them if it managed to make contact.

Zane was going to respond when his ears picked up the sound of the criminals approaching, rather than risk a narrow miss, or a graze, he simply opened the shadow beneath his feet, and fell out, landing a few feet away, lifting his crossbow and fire three rapid bolts at the attackers.
"Not Friendly in the slightest. And more outside I would bet."
He didnt have much hope for his bolts piercing the armor, which was why aimed for their faces. Not one to take chances, he hefted the spear that had missed him, while holstering his crossbow, and moving to pull the other spear from its place in the wall.
"Judging by how easily they move, that armor is sheet metal, not real steel. Low melting point, relatively speaking, but still high enough that it will cook them before it does. Cant have much resistance either, My crossbow is too weak to punch through i think, but these spears...They should be heavy enough that if thrown with about twenty-five pounds per square inch behind them, they should punch through."

The two inside the building quickly tried to duck to cover when they saw the fire form near the man, with the luck they had it was only obvious the group had to run into a couple of mutated survivors. The one aimed at would be hit by the fire and would ignite his clothes catching as he ran out arms flailing trying to get into the little rain the drizzle offered outside. The second of the two would have ducked thinking he was going to be hit by the fire only to be hit by a couple of arrows on his armor, luckily he had moved; with a tug he would pull the rope but find that the flames had burned it causing it to snAp when he yanked it. Following that the man would try and run only to be hit by his own spear.
Outside Kraun could smell the fire the moment it was started he would stand up as he saw the man running out of the building on fire, his face would contort into a smile and show his three rows of shark teeth as he moved to grab the man on fire and in one swoop bite him in half while he was still on fire, it didn't take long to digest the body and once he was done Kraun would move a little closer toward the entrance to the building.
"I figure that little fire you started in there will force you to come out, I can wait all day. We got the place surrounded; if you can come out I promise who quick deaths."
It was a obvious lie saying the place was surrounded but there was no sure way that the people inside could know that. Now there was the fear aspect of everything Kraun would grab and spear and aim for a window tossing it with a hefty throw back by the full force he could muster which could send a tank flying. His goal was to have the spear stick through the building.

There was no smile when Vylad's fire found the caught one of the attackers. It worked quickly, catching the clothing beneath the thin armour; clearly the person had worn something the fire could easily lick. There was a vague feeling of guilt that roused in the miscreant as his former attack ran with flailing arms out the door. The circling flames manages to fray their ropes, an excellent bonus. It appeared the second was dispatched by the stranger who was quick to explain their armour; it was rather impressive.
Vylad offered the stranger a small smile. "Well, well, well isn't somebody a smart kitty? Then I guess you're lucky you had a walking talking fire hanging around."
For a moment, Vylad falsely thought that chaos was gone until the leader of the attacks began hollering, stating the fire would force them to leave. Fire was Vylad's ally, it never harmed him and could no longer burn his skin which meant the small flames that had started on the dryer pieces of paper were of no thread. Lastly, he had zero plans to be dying in or around city hall anytime soon which meant that he was going to take the risk and remain among the flames. Then his company came to mind, in a way the stranger seemed safe with his dodging ability and something told him that the mysterious cat-man would be unlikely to take the deal as well. Death was after all a terrible item to trade even if it was quick. Why not take the chance of perhaps surviving the ordeal?
"I don't think he knows the flames were my doing. We could head upstairs and get a better look at the place unless you have a better idea. I could probably keep him at bay, doesn't take much to keep the fire going and if his armour is similar then we stand a better chance." Vylad offered, figuring that it would be safer upstairs since he could also scorch the stairs.
Shortly, the miscreant's attention returned to the present situation as a spear went through the walls. Whoever was out there was a lot stronger than his goons, but Vylad was still skeptical. Being a former criminal himself he knew that a majority of groups preferred outnumbering their opponents, or at least in the criminal group Vylad worked in. There was also that thought of why spread them out? There was no way of knowing what the people inside were like and in the post-apocalypse anyone could be dangerous. Without must time to spare, Vylad grabbed one of the books from the filing cabinet, lighting it and giving it a throw towards the exit using his pyrokinesis to fuel the flames. It made a fiery barricade at the door and the flames stretched up high around the safest entrance into the building.
"We better get moving, that guy out there clearly isn't keen on showing us mercy and I doubt a little fire is going to keep him from trying to kill us." For moment, the criminal had to ponder whether or not this was his fault, but considering he was unfamiliar with the voice from outside he presumed no.
He took a couple of steps up the staircase which gave a slight creak, but nothing too concerning, and awaited to see what the enemy and the stranger would do. Although, considering the teleportation abilities of his fellow survivor he would not doubt, nor would he blame him, if he decided to simply leave. Vylad hoped it was otherwise since fighting someone who threw a spear through at least one wall alone seemed pretty sketchy.

Zane was impressed with the spear going through the wall. He glanced at Vylad and winked.
"You go upstairs, I'm going to scout the odds, and if possible, fix them in our favor. Stay close to the shadows, so that if i have to, i can just jump out, grab you, and jump back in. This little kitty, happens to be a full grown adult, despite his size, and he doesnt take kindly to people throwing spears at him."
He popped out through a shadow, and he had no intention of leaving Vyl to fight on his own. He popped up across the street, in a dark alley, thankfully he could see out the shadows before stepping out, so he knew the group was much smaller than they boasted. He grinned, tapped on of the groups back most members on the shoulder, then pulled himmto the shadows as he screamed.
To those within the 'light' it would seem less than a second had passed, but time in the shadows was different. And within that time frame, he had time to drag the flailing the criminal to the top of the Hall bell tower and push him out, to plummet 6 stories to the ground, screaming the whole way.
Zane calmly walked back to the group, and this time, didnt even step out, he simply reached out, grabbed the next victim by his head, and pulled him halfway into the shadows, so that his body seemed to be severe, panicking several others in his group, before pulling the rest of him in.
This one wasnt dropped from a height, he was pushed into the giant clear aquarium, now emtpy of fish, but still full of green water, with no air. Zane looked out of the tank from the shadows, and smiled like the panther he really was.
